On August 14th, the “Media Promotion Conference for Cool Summer Destinations” and the unveiling of the first batch of “Climate-Selected Good Products” for 2024 was held with great pomp in Mount Wugong, Jiangxi. The event, themed “Climate-Selected Good Products: Enjoy Deliciousness During Cool Summers,” revealed the climate mysteries behind regional brands. Attendees included representatives responsible for rural revitalization, agricultural Tourism, and health and wellness industries from various regions, as well as journalists from all levels, who witnessed this significant moment together.
At the unveiling and award ceremony for the 2024 “Climate-Selected Good Products,” Jingning Huiming Tea was recognized as a national-level “Climate-Selected Good Product” due to its excellent climate conditions and superior quality. Only three such products were selected province-wide.
The Chinese “Climate-Selected Good Products” is a sub-Brand of the National Climate Mark. Its certification process involves analyzing the climate quality value of agricultural products using scientific indicators. It endorses the results of core agricultural product manufacturers certified by the State Administration for Market Regulation, along with technical reports on the climate quality evaluation of agricultural products. Local governments are then granted the “Climate-Selected Good Product” brand certification.
Carrying out the “Climate-Selected Good Products” certification work promotes the improvement and enhancement of high-quality agricultural products, elevates their market competitiveness, and advances the specialized and branded development of agriculture, playing a significant role in achieving rural revitalization.

Deciphering the “Climate Code” of 2024's “Climate-Selected Good Products”
Jingning is located in a subtropical climate zone, characterized by distinct seasons, abundant heat, warmth and Humidity, ample rainfall, a long Frost-free period, and an ecological environment that has consistently ranked among the top five in the country. Both air and Water quality meet national first-class standards, with a climate characterized by “warm winters and cool summers,” making it ideal for tea cultivation.
Huiming Tea is the leading industry under the “Jingning 600” brand, a pillar of Jingning's agriculture, and the “Golden Leaf” that opens up new pathways for rural revitalization strategy. The award-winning Huiming, a thousand-year-old Zen tea, has a long history, including winning a gold medal and first-class certificate at the 1915 Panama World Exposition. It is therefore also known as the award-winning Huiming. In 2010, it received certification for the China National Geographical Indication Product Mark, and in 2018, it was registered as a national geographical indication agricultural product. Currently, the Huiming tea plantation covers 76,000 mu (approximately 5,067 hectares) in Jingning, with 63,000 mu (approximately 4,200 hectares) available for picking. Its total output value is approximately 674 million yuan. In recent years, Jingning has been dedicated to transforming tea zones into scenic areas, tea gardens into parks, and tea mountains into gold mines, further enhancing the value of these leaves in promoting shared prosperity.
The recognition of Huiming Tea as a Chinese “Climate-Selected Good Product” is a dual endorsement of both the “Jingning 600” brand and its quality, as well as the best affirmation of Jingning's ecological environment! Enhancing the brand value of Huiming Tea from a meteorological perspective increases its influence and market competitiveness, which is of great significance for advancing the specialized and branded development of Jingning's agriculture.
In the next steps, the Jingning County Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau will collaborate with the Meteorological Bureau to continue tapping into ecological and climatic resource advantages, jointly driving the high-quality development of “Jingning 600.” The “high quality” of climate-selected products and the “high value” of economic benefits will proceed hand in hand, making a greater contribution to the development of our county's industries and rural revitalization.
