In recent years, the JieXi DaYang International Ecological Tourism Area has deepened the integrated development of culture, tourism, and sports by establishing the JieXi County Tea Provincial Modern Agricultural Industrial Park and hosting tea tourism activities. These efforts have further enhanced the reputation of JieXi's tourism industry and strengthened its cultural and tourism brand, contributing to the construction of the “Hundred Thousand Projects.”
Recently, when reporters visited the production workshop of the JieXi County Tea Provincial Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in the JieXi DaYang International Ecological Tourism Area, they observed the modern, intelligent tea-making process. Workers were busy transporting freshly picked tea leaves onto the production line, where machines would automatically carry out processes such as withering, rolling, Fermentation, and Drying.
Zou Junhong, staff member at the JieXi DaYang International Ecological Tourism Area Tea Provincial Modern Agricultural Industrial Park: “Since the start of Spring Tea season this year, we've produced a batch of black tea with excellent quality. Today, we are starting the second batch of black tea production. The distinctive feature of our black tea is its strong aroma and sweet taste. Our ecologically grown teas are harvested from elevations above 850 meters, in high mountains with significant temperature differences and morning and evening mists, which are ideal conditions for producing fine teas. We plan to produce around four to five thousand pounds of tea from this batch, and customers have already placed pre-orders.
Good tea complements beautiful scenery. While strengthening the brand and promoting JieXi's teas globally, the JieXi DaYang International Ecological Tourism Area is also exploring the integration of tea and tourism, inviting visitors to enjoy the breeze, taste tea, and appreciate the mountain views. Recently, the scenic area launched innovative tea tourism events. Every Saturday night, tourists can witness tea art demonstrations performed by tea artists, allowing them to experience the charm of tea culture firsthand.
Tourist Xiao Wei: “There is JieXi-style tea and handmade tea, both very fragrant. The JieXi-style tea is delicious, and there are barbecues and other lively activities on site. I think it's important to showcase these traditional cultures to young people like us, encouraging us to learn and pass down these traditions.”
The tea tourism events are part of the scenic area's efforts to promote tea culture and support the development of the tourism area. The aim is to educate more people about the history, production techniques, and tasting methods of JieXi's teas, thereby enhancing their reputation.
Zeng Yangzheng, Deputy Manager of the JieXi DaYang International Ecological Tourism Area: “Every Saturday, we have a display of JieXi-style tea and handmade tea. Visitors can taste tea for free and also experience the process of making handmade tea. This allows them to experience firsthand the traditional technique of stir-frying JieXi tea. They can even take home the tea they make themselves. This is part of our efforts to promote JieXi's stir-fried tea tradition. Additionally, we invite barbecue chefs to cook for our residents and visitors, along with cultural performances, which have been very well received.”
