At 30°N, the golden latitude belt for world-renowned teas, Yellow Mountain stands out like a gem inlaid with jade. Here, the variety of teas is abundant, cultivation history spans centuries, and traditional Tea-making techniques are mature and advanced. It is home to three top-tier teas—Yellow Mountain Maofeng, Keemun Black Tea, and Taiping Monkey King—and is one of the country's key regions for renowned tea production. From July 26 to August 1, the Yellow Mountain City Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yellow Mountain Industrial Investment Group, and Yellow Mountain City Supply and Marketing Cooperative (Yellow Mountain Supply and Marketing Group) organized six training and deployment meetings for data collection work for the Yellow Mountain Tea Industry Brain in Yixian, Shexian, Huangshan District, Xiuning, Qimen, and Tunxi District, attended by over 500 people. These meetings further advanced the construction of Phase I of the Yellow Mountain City Tea Industry Brain project, integrated information resources for the tea industry, strengthened quality and safety supervision of teas, and empowered the high-quality development of the Yellow Mountain tea industry with new-form productive forces.
The meeting mobilized and deployed the construction of the Yellow Mountain Tea Industry Brain project and provided specialized training on basic data collection from tea gardens. It also introduced the construction progress of the Yellow Mountain Tea Industry Brain project and detailed the process, task division, and key timelines for data collection, systematically explained the critical points of data collection and import procedures, and emphasized the importance of the data collection work.
In March this year, Anhui Province's first digital management platform for tea, the Yellow Mountain City Tea Industry Brain, was officially launched for trial operation in Fuxi Township, Huizhou District. Currently, Phase I of the Tea Industry Brain project has collected data on 49,158 mu of tea gardens and registered 11,595 tea farmers in Huizhou District, achieving full coverage across Huizhou District.
“By building the ‘Yellow Mountain City Tea Industry Brain' digital application scenario, we empower the high-quality intelligent service system for the tea industry, creating an integrated digital platform for the tea industry that combines multiple functions and integrates online and offline services. This will enhance the value of tea brands, promote the high-quality development of the city's tea industry, and contribute to rural revitalization. The purpose of this training event is to emphasize the importance and quality requirements of information data collection, comprehensively sort out the key points and difficulties in data reporting, and provide a solid guarantee for the smooth conduct of information data collection.” According to relevant officials from the Yellow Mountain Industrial Investment Group and Yellow Mountain City Supply and Marketing Cooperative (Yellow Mountain Supply and Marketing Group), the project will be implemented in three phases. Phase I is the foundational stage, focusing on the Yellow Mountain Maofeng Tea Industry Brain, establishing a basic framework, conducting tea garden information collection and entity coding across the entire city, constructing a digital system for the Yellow Mountain Maofeng tea Brand, and enabling online transactions and financial services. Phase II is the optimization and enhancement stage, expanding the scope of the project to include digital construction for brands such as Keemun Black Tea, Taiping Monkey King, Dafang tea, and Shexian Dropwater Fragrant Tea, while improving the breadth and precision of tea garden information and entity coding. Phase III is the value conversion stage, constructing a social service system for the tea industry, establishing a digital credit system for brands, setting up an online marketplace for Yellow Mountain tea, and allowing consumers to purchase authentic Yellow Mountain tea. Upon completion of the project, it will support the comprehensive improvement of the tea industry chain, manage the entire cycle of tea planting, processing, and sales through a closed-loop approach, providing modern technological means for tea industry management; and by building digital application scenarios, it will create a one-stop digital integration for the tea industry that combines online and offline services, achieving a significant upgrade in tea quality and production efficiency, and providing powerful momentum for the sustainable development of the tea industry.
Next,
the Yellow Mountain City Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yellow Mountain Industrial Investment Group, and Yellow Mountain City Supply and Marketing Cooperative (Yellow Mountain Supply and Marketing Group) will focus on four key elements—”tea garden area, fresh leaf yield, tea standard equivalent, finished tea sales”—and three critical links—”determining production based on the garden, standards based on production, and sales based on standards,” ensuring the smooth progress of data collection work for the Yellow Mountain City Tea Industry Brain project. They will do a good job summarizing information, mapping and storing data, and gradually achieve full coverage with the “Tea Farmer Code.”
