“Hello Tea enthusiasts, everyone. I'm Na Fa, the secretary of Nanhua Village in Nanmei Township. Welcome to our live stream…” After completing his daily tasks and without any special events, at 9:00 PM every night, the Douyin live streaming room of the Nanhua Village cooperative goes live on schedule.
To increase the visibility of Nanhua Village's teas and broaden their sales channels, since December 2023, Nanhua Village has been preparing to establish a live streaming team. To date, through live streaming, they have helped local tea farmers sell 0.6 tons of tea and over 400 units of agricultural specialty products, increasing farmers' incomes by over 80,000 yuan. This has, to some extent, increased the exposure of Nanhua Village's tea products and enabled high-quality Nanhua tea to reach a wider audience. However, issues such as non-standard product labels, unprofessional live streaming language, and a lack of product variety have become increasingly apparent.
To address these practical problems, with the support and concern of the District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the District Market Supervision Administration Bureau, Nanmei Township organized training sessions in Nanhua Village for the standardization of tea product labeling, Mandarin learning, and Honey sales. A total of more than 20 major tea enterprises and individuals from Nanhua Village participated in the training.
The head of the section, Duan Hongyan from the District Market Supervision Administration Bureau, provided detailed training on conducting online business activities legally and according to regulations, standardizing product packaging and registration procedures, and resisting the chaos in live streaming. She also answered questions and addressed concerns faced by tea companies during production and operation.
CPPCC member Zhang Changwei taught a session on basic Mandarin knowledge, pronunciation training, oral expression techniques, and practical application scenarios for Mandarin.
The training also invited municipal CPPCC member Li Zongcheng to discuss strategies for solving the sales issues of local black honey in Nanhua.
Participants expressed that they learned a lot from this training, which was very beneficial for the sales of local agricultural specialty products. They hoped to see more similar training sessions organized in the future. Moving forward, Nanmei Township will continue to integrate various quality resources and leverage new media platforms to cultivate a group of rural talents who are skilled in technology, adept at live streaming, and proficient in sales. The township will continuously strengthen Brand creation, further enhance the promotion of Nanmei agricultural specialty products, and continuously support farmers in increasing their income and achieving prosperity.
