The Benefits and Effects of Dark Tea
The benefits of dark tea Dark tea is one of the six major types of tea and is a fully fermented tea. When consumed in moderation by healthy individuals, it can help protect blood vessels, regulate blood sugar levels, promote digestion, and alleviate greasy feelings. 1. Protects Blood Vessels: High levels of lipids in the body can cause lipid deposition on the walls of blood vessels, leading to atherosclerosis and thrombosis. Dark tea has certain effects in degrading fat, inhibiting blood coagulation, and promoting the dissolution of fibrinogen. It helps inhibit or reduce the possibility of platelet aggregation. This allows the blood vessel walls to relax, maintaining normal blood flow, which helps to regulate blood pressure, lipids, and soften blood vessels. 2. Regulates Blood Sugar Levels: Dark tea contains higher levels of tea polysaccharides, which are more active than those found in other types of tea. Therefore, dark tea can help promote carbohydrate metabolism, aiding in the regulation of blood sugar levels. 3. Promotes Digestion and Relieves Greasiness: Dark tea contains certain amounts of theobromine, tea polyphenols, vitamins, amino acids, and phospholipids, which can help regulate fat metabolism, offering some positive assistance for weight loss and making it suitable for…- 0

A pot of tea and a handheld fan in hand, the oppressive heat seems less unbearable amidst such leisurely comfort. Between a cold drink and a cup of hot tea, which one is truly better at beating the heat? You might not believe it, but refreshing iced drinks can actually lead to heatstroke. In hot weather, you should opt for hot tea! The Need for "Yang" Nourishment During the Dog Days In hot, humid, and damp weather, one is prone to the "six evils" (referring to "wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness, and fire," which originate from nature's "six qi"). The body's physiological functions are affected. Winter is yin, while summer is yang. During the peak of summer in the dog days, both nature and the human body reach their highest yang energy. Consuming cold and cooling foods during this time when your body's yang energy is at its peak, coupled with exposure to air conditioning, will inevitably deplete your yang energy and some physiological functions. If you don't focus on nourishing your yang during the summer, once the season…- 0

The Role of Stems in Anhua Black Tea: Essential for Quality
When brewing Anhua black tea, have you ever wondered, “Why are there so many stems?” Sometimes, you might even remove and discard the larger ones. However, stems are not contaminants in the tea leaves; on the contrary, they have significant value. Don’t throw away these treasures out of ignorance—read on to find out why! Picking Standards In the picking standards for Anhua black tea, more mature fresh leaves are required. Therefore, the presence of stems is quite normal in these three categories of tea. Taste Requirements As the nutrient-conducting organs of fresh leaves, stems contain higher levels of sugar. Therefore, when blending black tea, stems are also added in appropriate amounts. For example, 3 kg of Fu brick tea includes large-leaf stems that have been accumulated over more than a year, contributing to its unique taste. Pressing Requirements Stems also play an important role in the pressing process, especially for Hei brick tea. During processing and storage, Hei brick tea requires certain temperature, humidity, and oxygen conditions for fermentation. A certain amount of stems can increase the air gaps within the brick, ensuring adequate oxygen supply, which is beneficial for quality development. Additionally, a specific stem content facilitates the drainage…- 0

Night Tea: Black or Green?
It is more suitable to drink black tea at night. Black tea is fully fermented, which means the caffeine and polyphenols undergo oxidation and their content becomes relatively lower. Its nature is gentler, and drinking an appropriate amount of black tea at night can aid digestion and improve sleep. Green tea, on the other hand, is unfermented, tends to be cooler in nature, and has a stronger stimulating effect, making it less suitable for consumption at night. Furthermore, when drinking tea at night, it's important to do so in moderation; avoid drinking large quantities of strong tea. Night Tea: Black or Green? Black tea is more suitable for nighttime consumption. Black tea is made from fully fermented leaves, and as such, the caffeine and polyphenols are oxidized, leading to lower levels of these substances. This makes the tea more gentle, and drinking a moderate amount of black tea at night can help with digestion and improve sleep quality. Green tea, being unfermented, is cooler in nature and has a stronger stimulating effect, making it unsuitable for evening consumption. Additionally, when drinking tea at night, it is advisable to drink it lightly. Drinking lighter teas is healthier, meaning you should use…- 0

Dangers of Drinking Strong Tea
Tea contains oxalic acid, especially strong tea, which has a higher content. Many people in daily life prefer strong tea, believing that is the true way to enjoy tea and not waste it. However, because of its high oxalate content, strong tea may lead to hyperoxaluria in the urinary tract, potentially forming calcium oxalate stones. In severe cases, it can even cause kidney stones. Some also say that regularly drinking strong tea can trigger hypertension. This is because tea contains caffeine, which can raise blood pressure, causing symptoms such as dizziness and headaches when consumed in strong teas. For example, drinking green tea can stimulate excessive secretion of stomach acid, diluting gastric juices and affecting normal digestion of food. If digestive issues persist for a long time, symptoms like bloating and abdominal pain may appear, or even duodenal ulcers could develop. Additionally, regularly consuming tea, particularly strong tea, can overexcite the nervous system, leading to a faster heartbeat. Drinking tea before bed, especially strong tea, can cause poor sleep quality or insomnia. What Problems Can Arise from Regularly Drinking Strong Tea? 1. Regular consumption of strong tea promotes osteoporosis. Tea contains a relatively high amount of caffeine, which can…- 0

Why not take medicine with tea?
Tea contains a large amount of polyphenols, which can combine with many drugs to form precipitates, hindering the absorption of the drugs and thus affecting their efficacy. As the saying goes: "Tea water neutralizes medicine," so never take medicine with tea water, or it will be in vain. Why not take medicine with tea? Taking medicine with tea water can reduce its effectiveness and react with the drug to produce harmful substances. Tea contains a large amount of tannic acid, which can react with alkaloids, the active ingredients in drugs, forming insoluble substances. This can not only reduce the effectiveness of the drug but also easily lead to conditions such as gallstones and kidney stones. Tea contains caffeine, theophylline, and other components that can stimulate the central nervous system; taking sedatives or hypnotics with tea water can inhibit the drug's effectiveness. Note that you should not drink tea for two hours after taking medicine. After seeing a doctor, the physician will advise patients not to take medicines with tea water. This is mainly because tea contains components such as polyphenols, tannins, caffeine, cocoa alkaloids, and theophylline, which can easily chemically react with the chemical components in the drugs, thereby affecting…- 0

The Anticancer Potential of Tea Catechins
Cancer is a leading cause of the global disease burden, with mortality second only to cardiovascular diseases. In 2019, there were 23.6 million cases and 10 million deaths from various cancers across 204 countries and regions. The global cancer burden is expected to continue increasing, with projections estimating 28.4 million cancer cases by 2040. Diet is believed to be an effective approach for preventing certain cancers. Catechins are biologically active polyphenol components found in fresh tea leaves or green tea, and they are the primary contributors to the health benefits of tea. Fresh tea leaves typically contain four phenotypic catechins: (-)-epicatechin (EC), (-)-epigallocatechin (EGC), (-)-epicatechin gallate (ECG), and (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is the most abundant catechin in fresh tea leaves, accounting for over 40% of total catechin content. Many studies have shown that tea catechins possess anticancer properties. However, the impact of tea catechins and tea consumption on cancer risk remains inconclusive and controversial. Epidemiological and in vivo studies suggest that tea catechins exhibit anticancer effects against various types of cancer, including gynecological cancers, digestive tract cancers, brain gliomas, hepatobiliary cancers, and lung cancer.
