“When fatigue sets in, have a cup of Tea.” Whenever I feel tired, brewing a cup of clear tea not only soothes the body and mind but also helps to gradually restore my energy thanks to the effects of the tea. We often say “addicted to alcohol as if it's one's life,” but I believe there are many tea enthusiasts like me who are equally “addicted to tea as if it's our life.” So for those of us who drink tea regularly, what is the impact on our health? And what should we be aware of when drinking tea?
First and foremost, it is important to know that drinking tea has a positive effect on the body.
The primary impacts of long-term tea drinking include:
1. Calming the Mind and Soothing the Spirit: Tea contains substances such as polyphenols that are beneficial to the human body. These can effectively alleviate a range of emotional issues, including fatigue and irritability, playing a role in calming the mind and soothing the spirit.
2. Relieving Phlegm and Reducing Turbidity: Tea itself can promote digestion and absorption of food in the body. For those who experience bloating, lack of appetite, or high blood lipids, regularly drinking tea, especially Green Tea, can have a certain health-preserving effect.
3. Anti-Radiation: This is particularly relevant for those of us who work in front of computers for extended periods. Staring at screens daily can cause discomfort due to radiation, and drinking more green tea can help mitigate this radiation.
4. Beautifying and Nourishing the Skin: For women, long-term tea drinking, particularly of Black Tea, can not only warm the stomach and prevent coldness in the body but also have a certain beautifying effect.
However, drinking tea should be adjusted according to individual constitution and with some considerations in mind. If you are naturally sensitive and prone to insomnia, it is not suitable to drink strong tea regularly or before bed. It is also not recommended to drink tea on an empty stomach. Additionally, do not drink tea that has been left overnight. Generally, tea should not be steeped for more than six hours. Overnight tea not only loses much of its aroma but also its original nutritional components. Drinking overnight tea regularly does not have a positive effect on health, so it should be avoided.
