Would you buy tea online if quality were guaranteed?
The greatest advantage of buying tea online is convenience; there are no time restrictions for purchases, and there's no need to make a special trip to a tea shop. After placing an order, you can simply wait at home for the delivery. Many tea enthusiasts choose to buy tea online because of the broad selection available, including different types of tea such as green tea, black tea, and Pu'er tea, from various regions, brands, and vintages, all at different price points. Without the need to rent prime retail space with high foot traffic, many online tea shops have lower rental costs, which often translates into more affordable tea prices compared to physical stores. Tea enthusiasts with some knowledge of tea evaluation can find good-quality teas at reasonable prices online with patience and careful selection. Those who are reluctant to buy tea online believe that they cannot directly inspect the tea before purchasing or assess its aroma, taste, and mouthfeel through tasting. If they end up with poor-quality or unsatisfactory tea, the process of returns and exchanges can be troublesome. Compared to physical stores, buying tea online does carry a higher risk of encountering problems.… -

In recent years, there have been many white and yellow tea products on the market, known for their fresh and refreshing taste, they are very popular. So here comes the question: as a tea novice, I only know that they taste good, but I really don't know much else! These white and yellow teas, are they white tea and yellow tea respectively? Are the colors inherent in the tea buds, or do they change during processing? Why do they turn these colors? Do they have more health benefits?... No rush, let’s take a look at them one by one~ Whitened and yellowed varieties of tea plants are a rare type of tea plant germplasm resource. Influenced by genetic and environmental factors, the chlorophyll content in their buds and leaves is low, causing the new shoots to appear white, yellow, or golden-white. During the whitening and yellowing periods, the amino acid content in the buds and leaves is high, while the content of tea polyphenols and caffeine is moderate. The dry tea made from them has a high degree of freshness in taste, with the leaves turning white or golden-yellow when infused. They are not the traditional white tea and yellow… -

How to Store Tea During the Rainy Season?
It is now the hottest time of the year, and most regions in the south have entered a hot and humid state. At this time, tea enthusiasts who have tea in their possession will face a severe challenge of storing tea during the summer. As we all know, tea leaves are very susceptible to environmental influences, and the requirements for storing tea are extremely strict. Especially with Pu'er tea, if stored well, it can become more fragrant over time and have collection value; if not stored properly, the tea can spoil, losing its drinking value and causing significant economic losses for individuals or businesses. Understanding the principles of tea transformation before storing tea is crucial for scientific storage. Factors Affecting Tea Transformation or Spoilage In fact, the transformation of tea leaves is directly related to temperature, humidity, oxygen, and light. Generally, the higher the temperature, the greater the humidity, the more sufficient the oxygen, and the stronger the light, the faster the oxidation, hydrolysis, polymerization, and other chemical reactions of the substances within the tea leaves will occur, resulting in a quicker change in taste components. Temperatures that are too high or too low are not conducive to the transformation… -

Shoumei: The “Cinderella” of White Teas
In the world of white tea, there is a role often misunderstood—the Shoumei. It seems to be frequently regarded as a “low-end tea,” with its raw materials considered inexpensive. But is this really the case? Let's unveil the mystery of Shoumei together and explore the story behind it. Shoumei, a name that sounds like a venerable elder with long, refined eyebrows, gives off an impression of steadiness and warmth. Its appearance isn't particularly outstanding; one bud with three or four leaves, with obvious stalks and broad, round leaves. Compared to the plump buds of Baihao Yinzhen (Silver Needle) and the one bud with one or two leaves of Baimudan (White Peony), it does indeed appear somewhat “unremarkable.” This is why Shoumei occupies a lower position in the “pecking order” of white teas and is viewed by some as the “lowest grade” of white tea. However, is Shoumei really a low-end white tea? In fact, once we delve deeper into Shoumei, we discover many lesser-known advantages. Firstly, the production volume of Shoumei is very large, accounting for more than half of the total production of white tea. This makes Shoumei the most common and accessible variety of white tea, allowing more… -

Puer Tea Collection: Raw or Ripe Tea?
Puer raw tea is suitable for storage and has an increasing value. Puer tea, based on the differences in processing techniques, is divided into two categories: raw tea and ripe tea. Raw tea is made from Yunnan large-leaf sun-dried green tea, which is steamed and pressed into shape. The finished product is rich and active in substances, and its quality improves over time, making it suitable for long-term storage. Ripe tea, on the other hand, undergoes fermentation and piling processes, resulting in stable tea quality that is ideal for daily consumption. Precautions for Collecting Puer Tea: 1. Blindly Pursuing "Age" and "Antiquity" Many collectors believe that the longer the vintage and the higher the price, the greater the collection value of Puer tea. They thus blindly pursue Puer aged teas from the 1960s and 1970s. However, Puer teas stored for two to three decades are already rare, while those stored for four to five decades or even longer are extremely scarce. Some so-called "aged cakes" sold for thousands of yuan are actually produced by unscrupulous manufacturers and merchants who exploit consumers' preference for age, deliberately presenting young teas as old ones with fake labels. The actual cost of such teas… -
