Basic Introduction to Junan Green Tea
Junan Green Tea is a specialty product of Junan County, Shandong Province, and is a Chinese geographical indication agricultural product. The county is renowned as the “Green Tea Hometown.” The products are divided into seven major series: “Great Silver Sword, Great White Spring Snail, Emerald Bud, Green Sword, Fur Peak, Pine Needle, Snow Lotus.” Junan Green Tea has been recognized by the China National Tea Research Institute for its unique high-quality characteristics: “thick leaves, good for multiple infusions, strong aroma, rich flavor.” In national, provincial, and municipal tea competitions, it has won 116 awards above the municipal level, including 20 at the national level and 50 at the provincial level. It has received accolades such as “China's Famous Product” and “The Most Trusted Shandong Product by Consumers,” and the county has been named “China's Tea Hometown.”
Product Features
The majority of tea plantations in Junan County are located in hilly areas in the east and south, with towns such as Zhoubian, Zhuanggang, Tuanlin, and Zhulu serving as primary bases for producing high-quality Shandong green tea and ecological garden zones. The tea produced here comes in various forms, such as bud-shaped, needle-shaped, flat-shaped, and bundled series. The tea is tightly rolled, robust, and covered in fine down, with a pronounced chestnut aroma, a rich and refreshing taste, a bright green infusion color, and a plump, leafy bottom that is yellow-green and bright. Awards and Honors
In 1994, during the first China Tea Cup competition for famous and quality teas, “Snow Bud” won the top prize among Shandong's famous and quality teas.
In 1995, it won two golds and three silvers at China's Second Agricultural Exposition and represented Shandong's famous teas at the 29th World Agricultural Exposition.
In 1997, at China's Third Agricultural Exposition, “Pine Needle” tea was recognized as a China Famous Product.
In 1998, “Jiufang Huichun” tea won the top prize among the ten most famous teas in Linyi City.
In 1999, at the Third China Tea Cup competition for famous and quality teas, it won three first prizes and three quality awards, and the “Lunan Qing” brand green tea obtained the right to use the “Green Food Mark” from the state.
In 2001, at the China (International) Agricultural Exposition, “Jade Bud” and “Emerald Spring Bud” green teas were recognized as famous products. After tasting Junan Green Tea, renowned Chinese Tea expert Mr. Cheng Qikun remarked, “To the south, there is Hangzhou's Dragon Well; to the north, there is Yimeng's Jade Bud.”
In 2001, at the first news conference for the Shandong Tea culture Association's competition for famous and quality teas, it swept all the gold medals.
