Jinguagong Tea is named for its resemblance to a golden squash. It has the benefits of lowering blood pressure and promoting fat metabolism, as well as being invigorating and helpful in sobering up from alcohol. It is a very high-quality tea, and many people are unsure how to brew Jinguagong tea. Below are the steps for brewing this tea.
Steps to Brew Jinguagong Tea
Step 1: First, steep the Teacups with boiling water, which is known as warming the cups. This not only serves a high-temperature disinfection purpose but also raises the temperature of the cups, making it easier for the tea juice to seep out during subsequent brewing.
Step 2: Place about 5 to 8 grams of Jinguagong tea in the Teapot. The amount can be adjusted according to personal taste. Step 3: Pour boiling water into the teapot and, after letting it sit for 2 seconds, pour out the tea water to warm the cups. This step cleanses and awakens the tea leaves.
Step 4: Pour boiling water over the rinsed tea in the teapot, cover it, and let it steep for around 5 seconds. This allows the tea juice to better seep out.
Step 5: When pouring out the tea, place a tea strainer on the teapot lid to filter out any small fragments of leaves.
Step 6: Distribute the tea among the cups, and now you can enjoy your Pu'er tea.
Brewing Tips for Jinguagong Tea
Jinguagong tea is an aged tea that doesn't immediately release its best flavors when first broken apart. At this point, it's necessary to spread the broken tea out in a clean, shaded area to “awaken” the tea.
The amount of tea used should be adjusted based on the size of the teapot and personal taste. Initially, you can use about one-third or half of the teapot's capacity as a guideline and then gradually adjust according to your preference.
Then, pour boiling water into the teapot and quickly discard the tea water. This process “wets” and awakens the tea. For the second infusion, the tea can be consumed, and the Steeping time should not be too long—about 3 to 5 seconds after adding boiling water. These are the instructions for brewing Jinguagong tea.
